Juvenile Bail Bonds in Polk County
A guide for parents and guardians navigating a juvenile arrest in Polk County, and what to know about how release actually works.
How Juvenile Cases Usually Work in Florida
Most juvenile arrests in Florida do not go through a cash bail schedule the way adult arrests do. Instead, the Department of Juvenile Justice uses a detention risk assessment instrument to decide whether a minor is released to a parent or guardian, or held pending a detention hearing. That decision is based on the charge and the minor's history, not a dollar amount.
This means for most juvenile cases, there is no bail bond to post at all. Release depends on the court's own process, not on us.
When a Bail Bond Does Apply
A standard bail bond becomes relevant when a minor is charged as an adult, which happens in Florida for certain serious offenses. Once a case moves into the adult court system, it is treated like any other adult arrest, with bail set from a schedule or by a judge, and a bond can be posted the same way we handle any other charge.
If you are not sure whether your family's situation falls into this category, call us. We will ask a few questions and tell you plainly whether a bond applies.
Estimate a Bail Bond Cost
If your family's case has moved into adult court, use this calculator to get a starting number. Call us for the real bail amount and an exact price.
Florida sets a $100 minimum fee, so any bail amount under $1,000 will still show $100 below. At that minimum, the fee is due in full, with no payment plan.

Juvenile Bail Questions
Does Florida use cash bail for juveniles?
Usually not. Most juvenile cases in Florida use a detention risk assessment instrument instead of a bail schedule, which decides whether a minor is released to a parent or guardian.
When does a bail bond actually apply to a juvenile case?
Most commonly when a minor has been charged as an adult for a serious offense, which moves the case into the adult court system where standard bail bonds can apply.
Who do you talk to about a juvenile case, the parent or the minor?
We work with the parent or legal guardian. A minor cannot sign a bail bond contract on their own, so a responsible adult handles that part of the process.
Should we talk to a lawyer too?
Yes. Juvenile court procedure is different from the adult system, and a juvenile defense attorney can explain the charges and options. We handle the bond side of things once a bail amount is set.
Do you offer payment plans for juvenile bonds?
Yes. See our bail financing page for how payment plans work if you would rather not pay the 10% fee all at once.
